How did you find out about emita and what benefits do you find the most valuable?
We were introduced to emita through UKTI. A significant proportion of our clients export or have overseas parent companies so we are naturally immersed in this world and make it our business to know about the fantastic support services available.
Attending events ensures we can continue to provide relevant marketing services with the latest market information to hand. This enables us to pass on information to our clients and gives us the opportunity to network with like-minded business owners.
How long has your company been active in the export / import market and which countries do you currently trade with?
We have been active since the start, primarily in the US and Europe however our client’s export throughout the world so we are exposed to the vast mixes of cultural and business challenges faced.
What made you decide to expand your business overseas?
We saw the gap in the market for commercially driven marketing within the engineering and manufacturing industry with may companies trying to do it themselves and struggling. Having been entrusted with campaigns for the likes of CATERPILLAR, FANUC Corporation and Kenray Global we decided to make our services accessible to the SME’s ready to expand but without the in-house knowledge to do so.
What has been your biggest exporting / importing challenge?
We are primarily a service business. Whilst there is great kudos for UK design, selling direct can be tricky. We have spent years perfecting a process which enables us to operate in the global market however our focus for the time being is to support out clients with their own overseas operations. We will continue to engage with and learn from services such as UKTI, emita and the many industry/sector specific organisations operating to support UK export.
What’s the most helpful piece of international trade advice you have received?
Talk to and learn from people that are already exporting.
What does the future hold? Any particular markets you are looking to target next?
We have some exciting projects underway with companies expanding into new markets and raising the bar in existing territories. We see real growth in export and are proud to be a part of each and every client’s journey to success.
